What starts as a small seed can grow and transform a community. Those who have volunteered to celebrate with us have changed the face of Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods. They bring to light everyday how important each and every individual is, and how we value the aging process. They set us apart as a community that is willing to put their seniors on a pedestal, a place they belong. From October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004, volunteers provided 26,842 hours of service to seniors. Volunteers shared their talents in a variety of ways. Leaf raking, delivering meals, serving lunch, yard clean-ups, delivering gift baskets and valentines, creating special remberances and helping with household chores are just a few of the multitude of ways that volunteers made a difference in seniors’ lives.
